Sometimes a single moment can determine an entire life: a child who cannot go to school. A mother who cannot reach a doctor. A young person who has no chance of finding work.
In many regions of Cameroon, these moments are part of everyday life. But they don't have to remain so.
Anula – founded by Annick and Uwe Larisch – stands for hope, dignity and the conviction that every person has the right to a self-determined life. The name Anula means "for the people" in the Bantu language of West Cameroon – and that is precisely our mission.
We do not work for people, but with them. As equals. With respect. With heart.
Why we do what we do
We see people who do not give up despite the most adverse circumstances. We see families who do everything they can to give their children a future. We see communities that are willing to take responsibility – if they are given the chance.
Anula supports them in seizing this opportunity. We create paths where there are none. We build bridges where there are gaps. We give hope where there are no prospects.
Our three areas of focus
Health – strengthening prevention, protecting lives
No one should die because the nearest doctor is too far away. We support hospitals, mobile services and health stations so that people in need receive help in time.
Education – creating opportunities, enabling futures
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn. We build schools, equip them and facilitate school sponsorships that open the way to a better future for children.
Work – promoting independence, creating prospects
Dignity begins with the opportunity to earn a living. We support start-ups, strengthen local businesses and create pathways to a self-determined life.
